Prime focus is always laid on research as this sole factor shall contribute greatly towards a successful career ahead. This is achieved by numerous state-of-the-art labs supported by well-trained lab technicians where students get to perform Practical under guidance of experienced Faculty.

Physics Labs

A physics laboratory might contain a particle accelerator or vacuum chamber, while a metallurgy laboratory could have apparatus for casting or refining metals or for testing their strength.

There is a wide range of physics laboratory equipments from the common ones like magnets, pulleys, pendulums, inclined planes, heat lamps, beakers, lenses, glasses, tuning forks, item scales etc to sophisticated ones like spectroscopes, microscopes, electromagnets, voltammeter, potentiometer, etc.

Chemistry Labs

The chemistry laboratory provides a central chemistry lab infrastructure for the whole ZMT, technical and scientific support in terms of planning and performance of instrumental analytics and methodologies. The technical staff supports the scientific divisions in planning and realization of sampling in-house campaigns or research expeditions.

The established methods represent the three analytical fields of the laboratory: organic, inorganic and isotopic geochemistry. Basic physical parameters as pH, salinity could be measured as well as highly resolved isotopic ratios of different environmental matrices.

Biology Labs

The biology laboratory is a modern research infrastructure, providing a broad range of biological and biochemical techniques with in-depth practical training offered by experienced staff. Important routine work is on microbial and molecular analyses and biological sample preparation in general.
